About the Division Main
If you need a SSL certificate for your application or server, you will first need to generate a private key and a certificate signing request (CSR). If you are using a third-party application, follow the instructions for your application to generate the key and CSR. Remember, certificate keys must be generated with 2048 bits or they will not be accepted.
If you are using either apache on Linux or IIS on windows, or if your application does not have a built in mechanism for generating certificates you can follow the directions below.
SSL Certificates offer the ability for a web site or application to validate its identity as well as encrypt traffic sent to/from it across the internet. Any system at Creighton that has a logon page or provides and accepts sensitive or confidential data MUST use SSL to ensure the security of data transmitted across the network. Sensitive and confidential data is defined by the data classification policy .

Overview
Antivirus/Anti-malware software helps keep the network clean and safe for all campus users. The Desktop Engineering team maintains the central antivirus service that provides updates and reporting for all the enterprise antivirus clients. If you have a university-owned machine, it should already have this software loaded and configured for you. The campus-wide antivirus solution for Creighton owned computers is Microsoft Defender.
