New Printers Coming April 2024!

On Monday, April 8th, our print partner, Canon, will begin deployment of new multifunction devices (MFDs) across the Omaha campus.  This upgrade will provide all faculty, staff, and students with the latest technology from Canon Solutions America that offers more features, continued reliability, is quieter, more energy efficient, and supports our efforts to lower our carbon footprint through reduced paper and toner usage.

How Will This Change Affect Me?

  • All eligible print devices will be migrated from Direct Print to Secure Print.  These new devices will be enabled with Pharos print management software to provide single-print queue printing—no more searching for different printer names and drivers!  You simply send a document to the queue and retrieve it using your ID badge at any Canon MFD.  This adds a layer of confidentiality and decreases our environmental footprint, allowing you to review and delete unwanted versions before printing. The result? We will reduce paper, toner, and energy use!

  • MFDs will be replaced and underutilized ones will be removed.

Student Employees Printing from Personal Devices?

Departments may sponsor student printing from their personal devices and a specific student print queue will be created for that purpose. Sponsoring departments, however, will be solely responsible for charges created by the student in that departmental print queue. More information is located here.

If additional folders need to be added to blue\scan, a ticket should be opened with the myIT Service Desk so it can be created.  Please include all NetIDs that need access to the new scan folder.
