Overview

Eduroam enables you to use your Creighton NetID and Blue Password to obtain wireless access to the internet at participating institutions around the world. Students and colleagues from participating institutions can enjoy the same benefit when visiting Creighton.

Eduroam wireless access is available at more than 1,000 institutions within the US and thousands more around the world.

Get Started

Current all Creighton students, faculty and staff can access any eduroam wireless network with their NetID and Blue Password. To connect:

  1. Go to Wi-Fi settings on your device and select eduroam.Hands typing on laptop
  2.  When prompted, enter your NetID followed by @creighton.edu. For example: abc123456@creighton.edu.
  3. Next enter your Blue Password.
  4. Accept the certificate if prompted.

Eduroam Certificate Installer

If you do not accept the certificate when prompted, or you want to prevent the prompt you can access the certificate installer program at the eduroam.org website.  https://cat.eduroam.org/#

  1. Click on download your eduroam installer
  2. Select Creighton University
  3. Download the Installer, it should be a customized install for your operating system.
  4. Run the downloaded file and follow the prompts.

Cost

Thanks to global agreements, the eduroam Wi-Fi roaming service is free-of-charge to all users.

When Traveling

Use these instructions if you are from Creighton and are visiting another participating institution.

  1. Select eduroam from the list of available wireless networks.
  2. Enter your Creighton NetID and Blue Password.

When Visiting Creighton

Use these instructions if you are visiting the Creighton campus from another participating institution.

  1. Select eduroam from the list of available wireless networks.
  2. Enter the email address and password from your home institution.

FAQ’s

Q.  Where can I access eduroam wireless?

  • The short answer to this is wherever you see eduroam appear in your list of Wi-Fi networks. There are more than 6,000 eduroam hotspots available at universities, research centers, and other research and education institutions in more than 70 territories around the world. As eduroam grows, more and more hotspots are appearing in additional places such as libraries, museums and public spaces such as railway stations and coffee shops. 
  • To locate eduroam near you or check for participating institutions go to www.eduroam.org/where for an interactive map.

Q.  Is this wireless access secure?

  • Your password for your online identity with eduroam is your NetID and Blue Password. Once you have logged into eduroam with your NetID and Blue Password, your device will identify a valid eduroam access point and log-in automatically. Your password is never shared with any of the access points.

Use of Eduroam by faculty, staff and students is governed by Creighton University’s Fair, Reasonable and Acceptable Use Policy.
