About Cybersecurity Awareness Month
Cybersecurity Awareness Month is designed to engage and educate public- and private-sector partners through events and initiatives with the goal of raising awareness about cybersecurity to increase the resiliency of the nation in the event of a cyber incident. Since the Presidential proclamation establishing Cybersecurity Awareness Month in 2004, the initiative has been formally recognized by Congress, federal, state and local governments and leaders from industry and academia. This united effort is necessary to maintain a cyberspace that is safer and more resilient and remains a source of tremendous opportunity and growth for years to come. For more information, visit

The overarching message this year is – “Do Your Part. #BeCyberSmart.”– it encourages individuals and organizations to own their role in protecting their part of cyberspace, stressing personal accountability and the importance of taking proactive steps to enhance cybersecurity.

Security Video Series - Review the cyber security video series patterned off of the sitcom "the Office". Adobe, the National Cyber Security Alliance, and Speechless Inc. have partnered to bring you a series of security awarenss videos. The videos feature a range of cybersecurity topics and convey best practices in this humours and engaging video series. Accompanied with each video is a written blog which reviews the tips and security practices highlighted in each video.


security training Creighton Faculty & Staff News: New Cybersecurity Training Released Oct. 11th
The Fall 2021 cybersecurity training campaign for faculty and staff will be released on Monday, October 11th. This mandatory training campaign will include four web-based modules delivered via KnowBe4, the company that currently provides simulated phishing for Creighton.  The cybersecurity training includes topics such as: passphrases, FERPA, phishing, and working from home.  An email invitation will be sent to all faculty and staff on October 11th with a link to the KnowBe4 training.  Be on the lookout for the invitation, if you have questions, please contact the myIT Service Desk at 402-280-1111 or 800-329-1011 or
